Royals ready to begin anew after Athletics sweep four

Defending Champs may be on the outside

Your Kansas City Royals could never get going against Oakland Athletics who pounded them 43-12 over the past four games.  To be sure, the Royals are glad they are gone and welcome the Chicago White Sox back to Kauffman Stadium.  The Royals took two of three against the Sox earlier in the month.

royals-3Last night, the Athletics again imposed some serious damage to the KC defense, pounding them 14-5.  The lone bright spot for the Royals was Christian Colon’s hitting his first Major League home run, a three-run shot in the ninth inning.  It took 290 at bats.

“It felt good off the bat,” Colon said. “I didn’t feel anything. I wish it was under different circumstances. But it was a big monkey off my back.  “It’s been tough {this series}. We’re not used to this {losing}. It’s hard to enjoy {the home run}.”

The series with the Sox kicks off tonight at 7:15.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on your Kansas City Royals!
