After losing two of three to the Texas Rangers (57-42, 1st AL West) your Kansas City Royals (48-49, 3rd AL Central) will host the Los Angeles Angels (43-55, 5th AL West) in a three game series beginning tonight at 8:15.
In yesterdays game against the Rangers, the Royals actually held a 1-0 lead up until the sixth inning when PH Adrian Beltre scored in the sixth. Later, Delino Shields got a hit off Luke Hochevear, who took over for Edinson Volquez to lock up the game.
“[Hochevar] tried to go down and away to DeShields. … It had so much run, it kind of ran back to the middle,” Royals manager Ned Yost said. “I didn’t think it was a horrible pitch. I thought that was a nice job of hitting.”
The Royals will send out RHP Ian Kennedy (6-8, 4.28 ERA) to the mound to start the game while the Angels will send out Hector Santiago (8-4, 4.32 ERA) to start. The Angels swept the Royals when they last met in California.
